A note about the music this Sunday:
To celebrate Mothering Sunday, and International Women’s Day 2018 (which takes place this Thursday), all of the music at this morning’s service has been written by women. The organ voluntaries this morning are Prelude on Royal Oak by Mary Beth Bennett, and Voluntary in E major by Elizabeth Stirling. The choir anthem was composed by Ian Stewart’s mother for the choir in Cupar that Ian sang with in 1992. All of the familiar hymns, and those at evensong , are by very influential female hymn writers and translators.
